Parkrun 6th November 2021

There are around 738 parkrun locations in the UK and 1,396 world wide.

After running the Fulbourn Hospital parkrun just south of the city of Cambridge yesterday, Peter Swales clocked his ninetieth event and heads the Dereham Runners most events leader board by sixteen events over his nearest rival.

It was also good to see our chairman Jonathan Burton on the tourist trial. Jonathan ran the Armley parkrun which looks an interesting event situated just a two mile jog from Leeds City centre along the towing path of the Leeds and Liverpool canal.

Ken Renshaw and Di Renshaw were in Rutland which was once the smallest county of England but now part of Leicestershire. They ran the Rutland Water parkrun alongside the largest expanse of man-made water in England. I was told it can become very cold there when the wind blows across that huge expanse of water especially when you are running across the top of the dam.

There were twelve Dereham Runners in attendance at the Royal Park Sandringham for the Sandringham parkrun. This was a special occasion for Deborah Last and son Jacob who were both running their one hundredth parkrun. Congratulations to them both and a further well done to Jacob for finishing in an excellent time of 21:15.
