The Dereham Town 5K
The Dereham 5K is a 2-lap course, starting at Dereham Recreation Ground, winding around the market town on mostly closed roads, it is a fast & flat ideal for those seeking a PB.
*Dereham 5km road race - update*
We have made the difficult decision not to hold our town centre 5km event this year.
This has been a hard decision to make, but is due to increased traffic/highway implications, and the subsequent costs associated with that.
The cost of these additional requirements has made the financial viability of the event such that we would either have to run the event at a loss, or dramatically increase the entry fees to runners, risking pricing ourselves out of the market for a 5km race.
We recognise that this will bring some disappointment to the hundreds of runners who have supported, and regularly enter this race, and for that we are really sorry.
We will be looking at alternative options including a new route and possibly distance, but for this year, unfortunately the race will not go ahead.
We are still holding our 10 mile road race on May 11th, entries for which are available through Total Race Timing.

RACE INFORMATION
Location: Dereham Recreation Ground, off Station Road, Dereham NR19 1AE (What3Words location daytime.mercy.hobbyists). There will be limited parking at the event HQ therefore it is strongly advised to use public car parks within the town centre. Unfortunately, no changing facilities available although toilet facilities available in adjacent leisure centre.
Race Entry: £17.00 affiliated £19.00 unaffiliated (NO ENTRIES ACCEPTED ON DAY). Minimum age is 12.
Race Time: 9:00 am
Prizes: 1st overall M/F, Senior, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 and 75+. All finishers with receive a finishers medal.
No team prizes.
Winners of overall prizes cannot also win age group prize.
Due to road closures for this event, there will be a strict cut off of 45 minutes to finish.
NO devices with headphones or earbuds, including bone conduction headphones, may be worn while racing.
