Speed at Cambridge.
On the parkrun circuit there are many types of courses. Some may be tough physical challenges such as found at Great Yarmouth North Beach and at Sheringham. Others may be less physical but ideal for speed.
Yesterday three Dereham Runners travelled sixty odd miles to the City of Cambridge, where in the district of Eddington which has been designed for twenty first centuary sustainable living with its state of the art community facilities, we ran the Storey Fields parkrun.
Here we were able to experience an almost perfect course for speed. We ran on a smooth tarmac path which encouraged you to run fast.
Despite the wet weather the course record was broken in a time of 14:47.
Looking through the age category records for Soreys Field there are some impressive enteries.
A time of 17.54 for the VM 60-64 record with 91.5 % age grade.
There is even a VM 90-94 record of 40 minutes 19 seconds.
This looks the place to go for speed and longevity records !
